A Moveable Feast brings plant-based dessert and coffee together for an afternoon pop-up. After three consecutive That’s Shanghai awards for its vegan dining, DULi arrives in Beijing for its first café collaboration. For two days, our bestselling vegan tiramisu meets SiphonHouse’s specially brewed ‘Hemingway’ coffee.
DULi’s tiramisu uses cashews, coconut cream, maple syrup, rum and caramel biscuits. Coconut cream replaces butter, creating a changing texture as the dessert warms: cool and ice-cream-like at first, then soft and creamy. Coconut and rum leave a layered, fragrant finish.
SiphonHouse’s ‘Hemingway’ coffee uses beans from Yemen and Ethiopia: Yemenia and Ethiopian heirloom varieties, washed and dark-roasted, with caramel, nut and cream notes. The grounds are added first, allowing rising water to extract them gradually for a layered cup and a lingering finish.
The collaboration takes its theme from Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast, reflecting both food that travels beyond borders and the flowing process of siphon brewing.
